Call for abstracts for the XVI International EWODOR Symposium The Therapeutic Community Model: a Tool for Empowerment
Dianova Italy, Dianova International and the Department of Special Needs Education (University of Ghent-Belgium) will host XVI International EWODOR Symposium The Therapeutic Community Model: a Tool for Empowerment , which will take place in Rome on the 22nd and 23rd of September 2016 at the Lumsa University, department of Human Studies.
The symposium will be dedicated to acquiring a better understanding of the empowerment process that takes place in the therapeutic community (TC) model of treatment for addictive disorders. The concept of empowerment is embedded in the TC model of treatment, based on reciprocal respect and grounded on the idea that people empower themselves, while professionals and peers are there to assist them in doing so
The EWODOR symposium is open to qualitative and quantitative research approaches. The symposium is for post-graduate researchers and PhD students, and professionals in the field of substance abuse treatment and intervention in the criminal justice system.
Abstracts should be submitted using the template provided by the Organising Committee, no later than May 28th 2016.Please send them to email@example.com
Abstracts must clearly describe the content and background of presentations, (case study, discussion of experience from practice, preliminary/completed research data, review of literature, administrative initiatives, regulations, etc.) and may be submitted for oral or poster presentation; papers for workshops are also welcome.
Authors may submit papers on youth empowerment, migration, prison population, dual pathology, addictions without substances (gambling, sex, technologies, etc.). The abstracts must be in English and should contain maximum 500 words.
Abstracts submitted for presentation will undergo a selection process carried out by the Symposium Scientific Committee. Please note that the Organising Committee will send a confirmation for all abstracts received. If you do not receive it, please contact us.
