Want to attend the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on Drugs in 2016 in New York?
The deadline to apply for consultative status is 1st June - but the application is lengthy. Start today!
15th May 2014
To bring a delegation of 5 people from your organisation to the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on Drugs in 2016, it is necessary for you to have ECOSOC Status.
The process takes around 18 months to complete. The process is rigorous and we encourage you to spend time completing your application to the best possible standard.
You will need to attach the statutes of your organisation, end of year financial accounts and relevant business/work plans. You should state that your intention is to:
- Participate in United Nations Commission of Narcotic Drugs which takes place in Vienna each year (describing the relevant groups you will represent)
- Describe how you are currently engaged in drug prevention, rehabilitation or policy and describe any relevant forums you are currently part of in relation to drug policy
To begin the process, you will need to conduct an initial pre-screening. Once this is approved, you can then complete the relevant forms and submit your application.
The deadline is 1st June 2014, so we encourage you to start today by completing the pre-screening process, which will give you access to the bigger application.
